Aye-Aye

The Aye-Aye

The Aye-Aye is listed as an endangered species. In 1933, Aye-Ayes were thought to be extinct, but were found again in the late 1950's. This shows you how close to extinction they were. To local tribes they are considered evil, supporting hunting them. Another excuse for hunting them is because they destroy crops. However, there is no scientific proof. This species is also threatened through deforestation.
