Reducing, Reusing, Recycling, and composting

Recycling

Composting

Reducing

By minimizing your waste at the source, you can save more materials. Reducing looks like buying products with little or no packaging.

Reusing

By reusing old things, you can have minimal waste. Composting is an example of reusing food for plant fertilizer.

How To Help

Reduce:

Buy loose fruits and vegetables without packaging.

Reuse:

Buy a reusable bag for the grocery store. Think of all the plastic bags you could save!

Recycle:

Put a sticky note on your trash can to remind you to recycle recyclable materials.

Compost:

Use an old shoebox to keep compost in, and then when it is full, empty it into your designated compost pile.
